Microsoft 365 Copilot — AU$31.40
Work-grounded AI in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams. Already included in Business Standard and Premium; this add-on covers other eligible plans. Promotional pricing of AU$26.91 at the time of writing.
Teams Phone Standard — AU$15.00
Turns Teams into your business phone system with PSTN calling - the natural replacement for an ageing PBX.
Defender for Business — AU$4.50
Enterprise-grade endpoint detection and response for SMBs. Included in Business Premium; standalone for other plans.
Defender & Purview Suites — AU$22.40
The advanced security and compliance bundle for Business Premium tenants that need to go further - XDR, insider risk and data lifecycle tooling.
Clipchamp Standard — AU$4.50
Video editing with premium stock and brand kits. Already included in Business Standard and Premium.
Visio Plan 1 — AU$7.50
Diagramming for processes, org charts and network maps, in the browser with files in OneDrive/SharePoint.
Microsoft Copilot: what you actually need to buy in 2026
Copilot licensing changed substantially in 2026 and most published advice is out of date. The current position:
Copilot Chat is free for every user with a Microsoft Entra account - secure AI chat with web grounding, at no extra cost.
Business Standard and Business Premium now include full Microsoft 365 Copilot - work-grounded AI across the Office apps is part of the plan price, not an add-on.
The Copilot add-on (AU$31.40, promo AU$26.91) remains for eligible plans that don't bundle it - Business Basic, Apps for Business and various enterprise SKUs.
The practical upshot: if you were holding off on Copilot because of the old per-seat add-on cost, moving to Business Standard or Premium may now be the cheaper path to it. We model this against your current licence mix on request.
Calling, security and specialist add-ons
Teams Phone Standard — AU$15.00/user/month
Adds a phone-system licence to Teams: numbers, call queues, auto attendants and voicemail. Pair it with a calling plan or operator connect for the actual call minutes. As a 3CX and Teams Calling house, we quote both honestly - which one wins depends on your call volumes and contact-centre needs.
Defender for Business — AU$4.50/user/month
Endpoint detection and response, vulnerability management and automated investigation for up to 300 seats. If you're on Business Premium you already have it; on any other plan it's the single highest-value security dollar an SMB can spend.
Defender & Purview Suites for Business Premium — AU$22.40/user/month
For Premium tenants with regulatory weight - the full Defender XDR stack plus Purview insider-risk, records management and data lifecycle tools, at roughly half what the components cost separately.

Copilot & add-on FAQs
Is Copilot worth it for a small business?
For teams living in Outlook, Word and Excel daily, the drafting, summarising and meeting-recap time savings typically justify the cost within the first month. Since it now comes bundled with Business Standard and Premium, for most SMBs the real question is whether your plan tier is right, not whether to buy the add-on.
What do we need before rolling out Copilot?
A tenant that's ready for it. Copilot surfaces whatever a user can already access - so sloppy SharePoint permissions become very visible, very fast. We run a permissions and data-hygiene check before enabling Copilot for exactly that reason.
Can Teams Phone fully replace our PBX?
Yes - numbers port across, call queues and auto attendants cover most SMB call flows, and handsets are optional. For complex contact-centre requirements we compare it against 3CX, which we also deploy and support.
Do add-ons require a specific base plan?
Most do - each add-on lists its eligible base plans, and some (like the Defender & Purview suite) specifically require Business Premium. We check compatibility as part of every quote so you never buy a licence that cannot attach.
